The new Bosch Active Line & Active Line Plus

For model year 2018 Bosch eBike Systems is introducing a brand new Active Line and Active Line Plus – aimed at city and urban cycling. Both drive systems contain a number of new technical developments and thanks to their smaller size they can be elegantly integrated into modern pedelec frames. With these two product lines, Bosch believes eBikers will experience a more natural riding experience but also benefit from the motor that is both lighter and quieter.

With the Active Line Plus, Bosch eBike Systems is primarily targeting comfort-conscious commuters and regular riders. Featuring a completely new gear concept, the new drive system is quieter, more compact and produces a smoother riding experience. A maximum torque of 50 Nm ensures powerful assistance. The Active Line Plus motor is also characterized by its low weight and compact design.

Ideal for everyday leisure cycling, the new Active Line has been redesigned to be more compact. Compared to the first version, the gear concept of the new Active Line has been completely reworked, producing a smoother and more pleasant riding experience.  At speeds over 25 km/h resistance is barely noticeable when pedaling. It provides support with torque of up to 40Nm. With its size reduced by roughly 25 percent, and at a weight of 2.9 kilos, the new drive unit is also one of the lightest on the market.

World First eMTB Mode from Bosch - Innovative riding mode designed for eMountain Bikers

Bosch eBike Systems is launching a world-first ‘eMTB mode’; specially designed for eMountain Bike riders, to provide a natural riding experience with optimal support on all terrain.

The new ‘eMTB mode’ is a landmark innovation for the eMountain Bike industry, and will make tackling steep ascents and cycling through challenging terrain easier and more fun. Replacing the Sport mode, the new ‘eMTB mode’ features a maximum torque of up to 75 Nm, boosting rider’s performance dynamically between 120 and 300 percent.

Depending on the pedal pressure, the progressive motor assistance of the ‘eMTB mode’ is adapted automatically to suit the rider's individual riding technique. There is no need to change between assistance modes – ensuring a more natural riding experience and ensuring eMountain bikers can concentrate solely on the trail ahead.

Easier to control at low speeds; likewise, through technical uphill stretches and obstacles, the mode has already made tracks with many industry leaders:

The eMTB mode will be available from retailers in the form of a software update from July 2017 onwards. All eBike models with the Bosch Performance Line CX can access the eMTB mode.
