We Ride Australia has launched a video competition to find out why people love cycling. In the first instance the competition will create a buzz around cycling for the entrants, but longer term it will create some interesting marketing data and also footage for future marketing and promotion for cycling. What do four million Australians who ride their bike regularly love about cycling?
 
We want you to tell us!
 
We Ride Australia has today launched a national video competition to find out from Australians across the country why they love riding their bicycle.
 
Australians of all ages are invited to send us their videos celebrating why they ride.

We want to hear your story about why you ride a bike: is it a quicker or cheaper way to get to work? A fun way to spend a weekend? A great way to connect with the kids? A way to clear your head after a busy day?

The winners of the four categories will share in prizes valued at over $8000 and regular weekly prizes will be awarded in the lead up to the final judging.

Director – National Advocacy for We Ride Australia Stephen Hodge said “we know that millions of Australians love the freedom, the exercise, the convenience and above all the joy of being able to ride their bicycle,

“Our national competition is open to children, young people and adults from across the country, simply record it on your smartphone, no experience necessary!

“It doesn’t have to be anything flashy, the competition is about sharing stories, not about showing off your presenting skills.

“Our film makers Bikefilm.com have made an excellent short video with some tips on how to get the basics right, and they’ll be there to assist when required,

“We want to share the stories of the many, many Australians who don’t often get the chance to tell their side of the story of why they love riding their bike,

“Our website has full details, a great promo video and a ‘how to make your own video’ presentation as well,” said Hodge.

  • Categories: Children – under 12, Teenage – 12 to 17, Adult – 18 and above, People’s Choice Award
  • Closing date: 5pm, 20th July, 2018 - entries must be lodged by closing date.
