Again Bowral’s main street was filled with waves of riders for Australia's multi award winning gran fondo, the Bowral Classic.
First the uber-serious 160km Maxi Classic riders, then the 120km Challenge Classic and then the 45km Social Classic participants; all lined up in the positively balmy highland weather to take on their chosen ride for the day.
Feedback from this year's Bowral Classic has been universally effusive and complimentary, an attitude that was also clearly evident in even the weariest of faces at the finishing village where riders enjoyed great food and drinks, live bands, and a real festival atmosphere.
This kind of cycling event drives interest in our sport, increases the acceptance of cyclists on our roads, and benefits the cycling industry driving sale of new product and potential for servicing; it drives short term revenue for bike shops and fosters the opportunity for ongoing relationships and sales with customers.
