VelectriX owned by Daniel Whiting is now selling 1200 units a year, a significant of e-bike numbers for an independent business.

After carrying out 12 month's of research and talking with their 50 dealers around the country, the general consensus was that the price point of $2500 -$5000 was crowded, with plenty of choice available from the major brands including Trek, Giant, Focus, Gazelle, Kalkhoff and others.

However the entry level market $1500 + was not being catered for properly and was being supplied by online companies, offering cheap, out of date and heavy e-bikes. This price bracket of the ebike market was growing and but the cheap online sales businesses offered no retail exposure, back up, warranty or support.

Responding to their research VelectriX has developed their Urban 2.0, men's and unisex frames to retail at $1495. All the main components including batteries, motors, controllers, brakes and gears have been considered with a view to meeting the brand's standard two year warranty. Customers have access to over 50 trained VelectriX e-bike dealers for servicing. Demand for the $1500 unit has been strong and VelectriX are introducing more frame size options and more colours.

The VelectriX Urban 2.0 model is targeted at commuters, first time e-bike buyers, uni students, school students as well as customers that would otherwise need finance or look at buying a conversion kit instead of a ready to go e-bike.

VelectriX aims to be the first e-bike manufacturer to actually produce and manufacture e-bikes in Australia with eyes on reaching the goal in 2-3 years.
