The edco team is growing to cover the increased demand for edco cycling products. Christian Dietl joined as Global Sales Director the team from March onwards. He will take care of all world-wide sales activities of edco.
Christian is a mechanical engineer and has experience for more than 20 years in the fields of marketing, product management and special sales in the international business. He has already very good contacts into the sports industry. Furthermore he is a passionate amateur cyclist himself and knows what matters for athletes.
“I could not miss this chance,” Christian Dietl states. “edco has such a long and successful history, but still keeps up with the times. I joined edco to support continuing the growth and the success story.”
Born in Bavaria, Christian worked as executive for marketing & products for an international enterprise over the last years. Business process optimization and product launch were just some of his responsibilities. Now he wants to merge his broad experience with his passion: “There is a trend of ‘bike individualization’. We offer our customers a good basis to upgrade existing bikes with more aerodynamic and lightweight products.” For Christian it is crucial to ensure that all channels of edco are supplied with the relevant information about the products and receive great service: “Key priorities for me are: great products, valuable pricing and perfect service for our customers.”
edco has already a good established distributor network and is currently launching its new cycling component portfolio with the focus on aerodynamic and sidewind stable wheelsets. Additional wheel parts are supplementing the portfolio. New channels will be established to support the sale and a web shop is currently in design. But there are more things to come – tubeless ready and tubeless wheels as well as disc brake wheels are ready to enter the streets. New cassettes with even lighter weights as before become shortly available. “We also have special offers for track cycling and triathlon.” Christian, who also looks after the sponsored athletes, explains. “But we also want to focus on fitness and indoor training segment as well as e-bikes.”
edco is a manufacturer of premium bicycle components. The company originally producing machines was found 1867 in Switzerland. In 1902 edco began to develop innovative parts for bikes and specialised in this sector in subsequent decades. For years the company focused on high-performance components and other high-end products, and now many carbon composite components made by edco already succeed in the bicycle market.
